Happy long weekend Monday from the white isle of Ibiza.
I have been getting quite a few emails in regards to the lack of more commercial dance tracks on Stash it or Trash it lately, so today I decided to skim through my collection and pick out something appropriate for the start of Shark Week on Discovery Channel :).
This track has been sitting on my Playbook for a few weeks now and occasionally it even gets some play. It’s by a Dutch Virgo who’s real name is Marie-José van der Kolk but you can just call her Loona.
You might remember her from her smash hit “Bailando” ten years ago, or more recently, from her remake of “Vamos a la playa”.
For the summer of 2011 she takes on another latin classic called “El Tiburon” setting it to the melody of Pigbag’s 1981 tune “Papa’s got a brand new pigbag”
By the way El Tiburon means The Shark in Spanish, that’s where the shark week connection comes in 😉
