Australian couple Doug and Sally Beitz are putting up their Micronesian island Kosrae Nautilus Resort for sale. They are not however doing it in a tradition way. They are raffling it off. Tickets for the raffle are $49 (or $349 for a 10-pack) and they give you a chance to win the three acre, waterfront resort, and the scuba diving business.
The couple who are heading back home to be closer to their family came up with the idea of raffling off the property in order to make sure that it goes to someone who will really love it, instead of someone with deep pockets.
“The idea to transfer the resort and dive business this way, rather than through a traditional sale, is because we want this piece of untouched paradise placed in the hands of someone who truly falls in love with it, someone who has dreamed of island life and who will continue to respect the island’s precious ecosystem, not simply the person with the deepest pockets.”
The raffle ends on July 26th so you still have a few more days to realize your tropical island owning dreams.
