Have you ever lost your Android phone?

Apparently all Android phones since the release of 4.4 have had a mechanism built in to locate, lock and erase your phone remotely. It works with ALL android phones, all you have to do is download a free app. The even cooler part is that you can customize the “I’m lost” message on the lock screen to say anything you want. You can also remotely program a phone number to the “call owner” button, for who ever finds your phone to call in order to get in touch with you.

The set up is very easy, once you download the app (if your phone doesn’t already have it), simply enter your Google Account info into it. If you ever lose your phone, all you have to do is navigate to the Android Device Manager webpage, click on the lock button, enter a lock screen password, message to who ever finds the phone and a phone number where you can be reached. That’s it! The phone is now locked, and the only thing who ever finds it will be able to do is call you, since everything behind the lock screen is protected by a password you assigned.
You can also ring your phone at full volume, even if you left it on mute and if worse comes to worse, wipe it clean.

Now you know.
