Ferris Bueller’s Day Off official soundtrack is finally getting a release.

What better way to say “Happy 30th Anniversary” than with an official soundtrack release for Ferris Bueller’s Day off.

It’s hard to believe that a movie the magnitude of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off did not have an official soundtrack in an era of movie soundtracks. Director John Hughes did not believe in soundtracks nor, did he believe that kids would want one for this movie. In an interview with Lolipop before his death in 2009, Hughes stated: “I mean, would kids want Wayne Nelson’s ‘Danke Shoen’ and Yello’s ‘Oh yeah’ on the same record? They probably already had ‘Twist and Shout’ or their parents did.” Well, John Hughes, the kids had approved!

The soundtrack will be released later this year. The track list is not yet finalized.
